Summer wedding dress: a whimsical customized gown for Bride Bethany
We had so much fun to design and re-create Summer wedding dress for bride Bethany.
Bethany was in the wedding/event planning business for 10 years and she have had her eye on Summer wedding dress since seeing it in a styled shoot that her photographer friend Brea Warren (Hudson Valley, NY) was a part of. When she reached out to us she told us that Summer wedding dress was the only dress on her mind.
Bethany knew we can personalize any of our wedding gowns in our collection to reflect each brides unique style. She had a few ideas to customize Summer wedding dress:
her first question was about the train length. Since they were planning to elope in the mountains, and also being a petite bride she was wondering if we could shorten the length of her train. Summer wedding dress has multiple skirt layers and silk panels. We decided to shorten the skirt in the back and only leave the longest four silk panels in the back at a cathedral length. We created a simple bustle system to bring those four panels up when needed. The silk is a lightweight textile and even a wedding dress with cathedral length train feels like carrying a feather.
Bethany loved the idea of adding a touch of color to the wedding gown. Summer wedding gown comes in champagne, ivory hues. Bethany wanted to add subtle dusty blues and grays undertones to the chiffon panels.
She also adored the floral lace top peeking out at the neckline, back, under arms and slightly under the waist. Her idea was to have more lace peeking at the waistline.
It was so much fun to design and re-create Summer wedding dress for Bethany. Not only that but she flew in from Colorado for a wedding dress fitting and we got to meet her in person.Bethany’s wedding was split into two parts. First was small intimate ceremony with immediate family in Upstate NY and a part two summer party in Colorado surrounded by friends. She got to wear her wedding dress twice and she looked absolutely stunning!
The photos below are from her intimate ceremony Upstate NY. Brea Warren was her photographer.
